ORIENTATION PROGRAM at KCC Institute : Best BJMC College in IP university Delhi

      Neha | June 9, 2020

      Best BJMC College

Starting college when you are a fresher can cause much restlessness in the heart of student because of all the unknowns–”What should my major be? Will I make any good friends? How will I find all of my classes? Whom do I ask if I have a query about anything?” . Prior to the start of classes, students are given a summary of the entire knowledge of university life, from academics to social activities, through a period of days referred to as orientation. Typically, a staffer or team coordinates the orientation programs within the university and provides the leadership to bring the whole university together. Depending on the dimensions and mission of the institution, the format of orientation will vary from a one-day program to a week-long event. However, no matter the character of the program, three objectives should be present altogether orientation programs.

      1. Introducing new students to college life

      2. Accustom students to new surroundings

      3. Providing liberty for the university to catch up with the newest members of the community. It is the job of the coordinator of orientation to design a curriculum that will bring these three goals together.

Introducing students to college life requires presenting full view as possible of college has to offer that is why academics and extra-curricular activity should be well presented. I am the undergrad of KCC Institute of Legal And Higher Education, Greater Noida of BJMC 2ND YEAR.

In the month of June I attended my Orientation program. You will get a snoop into my college experience, and what could be in store for the incoming college orientation in your life! Leading up to my orientation I was crazily googling and and searching my favorite college blogs for information. I wanted to know it all! What to await, what we would do, who I would meet, I couldn’t hold my self anymore! Obviously google couldn’t answer my all of these queries online – after all I wouldn’t know who would i to meet until I actually met them. I wouldn’t know what kind of room I was in until I was actually in the room. I wouldn’t know how my future classmates would react to me until I was actually surrounded by them. I had read everything about every instruction what I should bring and expect.

I was feeling as prepared as I could possibly be ever .I climbed into the car next morning on my way to my college, with my parents. When we arrived we parked our car and took left from the circle and walked towards the orientation building. I was amazed after seeing such huge campus, holding onto my mom’s arm because of nervousness or excitement I really don’t know, but that was the intense feeling I had and I would be good for the rest of orientation!

All of the student volunteers were excited, supportive but not overly nauseating, which I definitely appreciated. I am enthusiastic and can’t wait to support my school, don’t get me wrong! I had just been fully prepared for everyone to be obnoxious and they weren’t. They were happy, and eager to help – nothing over the top. While I was getting my folder of information, a woman came up to me and introduced herself. She explained that she was working on room assignments and had given me two. One in the rooms with everyone else, and one in a different building without a roommate that was closer to all of the events that would be happening.

I chose the second, because proximity to everything was more important to me than being with everyone else. The welcome session was surreal. Everything was fantastic, and we sat in the back on an aisle seat. I just gone it all in, and looked around seeing my future classmates and their families holding onto every last word. There were quite a few parent’s found at different locations throughout the audience shedding some tears. One of my favorite quotes from the weekend came from the college Chairman at the welcome session.

“ It may be nerdy, but let me tell you, if you are not nerdy, you would not be here”

The whole time I couldn’t help but think to myself “I made the right choice.” Towards the end of the session as the student orientation leaders were introducing themselves, a woman came over to me and told me that I could leave the room now and go to where my group is meeting so that I don’t have to worry about being caught in the flood of students leaving the room.

I got up and went with her, and was able to get a few minutes of quiet before the day really took off. As the students began to pour out of the room to find their groups, I sat out of the way and observed. A lot of faces lit up when they saw me, and a few students asked about my name.. She knew exactly who I was, in fact she knew about very student. We chatted until the groups began to leave the room , and I joined mine on their way out of the building.

After this we went to a presentation on the core curriculum at my college. Where we came to know about our syllabus and subjects! Unfortunately I couldn’t really hear much from the back of the room, but I already knew most of the information from my intensive stalking of the colleges’s website. We split up to attend an academic advising session of sorts. From here we had an hour in the dining hall to mingle with fellow classmates. There were snacks, but of course I couldn’t eat them so I don’t really have much to report on that front!

I belong to Bareli so I registered a seat in college hostel, I had never seen hostel like KCC HOSTEL. It was like hotel in term of facility, hygiene, meal, sports, security etc.

      kcc hostel Greater Noida

After completing the presentation teachers asked if we had any we had thought of. If you get an opportunity to ask questions don’t be afraid to say whatever is on your mind. Odds are that you aren’t the only one thinking about it!

After the orientation program completed my parents dropped me off at hostel and my mother was crying so I started crying but staff of hostel was very supportive and friendly. They made me feel like I at my second home and I waved my hand with a smile on my face and said bye to my parents, and they left.

Staff and some of our seniors who were the leaders of orientation program took us on a tour of college and hostel, I visited sports area, labs, classes, and each and every corner of college after all that was going to be my second home for some next year.

At the end of the orientation day i was so tired , I just wanted to feel my bed, Before I went to sleep, I took some photos of my room to share with you!

I was also surprised by seeing size of the closets and wardrobes. They were much larger than I expected! The beds were made and there were towels.

Next morning I had my alarm set for 6:45 am. I dragged myself out of bed, and got myself ready for the day. As I got all my stuff together, I noticed that it was pouring. Not raining, pouring. I went towards my class enjoying pouring of drops.

This was my college orientation experience!

What made me surprise the most was the people who went out of their easy to introduce themselves to me. These people I found myself with throughout orientation.

I hope that this eases the nerves of anyone going into orientation, or proves to be a helpful glance into what you may experience!

Do you know an incoming college freshman preparing for their college orientation? Maybe a high school student who just can’t wait to know all they can about college? Share this with them!

TESTIMONIAL By BJMC Student of KCC institutes: GGSIPU Affiliated College

      Neha | June 9, 2020

      Dance Society at KCC

Well after passing out your school everyone dream for a college life where you’ll find amazing faculties, great friends and yes indeed an excellent campus. I was looking for a college with a very good practical learning because the course I chose (BJMC) for my career was very dynamic. I appeared in IPUCET and qualified with 1509 rank and after seeing my result i was sure about one thing that my search for a good college is going to be very tough. I waited for first round result of counselling and the colleges which had been allotted was too far from my residence and did not have proper commute facility. So I did not choose any of the college and waited for next round result and meanwhile I started visiting colleges according to my preferences. Finally I made a list of three colleges suiting my preferences and KCC INSTITUTE OF LEGAL AND HIGHER EDUCATION, Greater Noida was one of them and fortunately KCCILHE been allotted to me.

KCCILHE is a treasury of Digital library, communication lab, Microsoft certified labs, sports zone, In-campus hostel and each now then aspire to offer their student innovative and practical knowledge. Hostel of KCC is best in this area they provide world class amenities in the confines of the hostel. In hostel there are Single occupancy, Double occupancy, Triple Occupancy and dorm. All occupancies have are AC and cooler facility and provide amenities like 4 time meal, Gym, Attached washrooms equipped with Geyser, Bedding, and Common TV room at each floor.

KCCILHE has provided me an excellent environment and occasion to find out and grow myself. It includes tons of intra and interpersonal skills which is one among my key learning by being a member of the KCCILHE family. Infrastructure of KCC Institutes is one among the best in Delhi-NCR region. Once I came to the present college met with nothing positive energy and enthusiasm.

I am the scholar of BJMC in KCCILHE. A year ago I had no idea about media; I lacked the required skills and potential that a Journalist/Media person must need to survive! It took me a about 4-5hours or even more to write down an easy template article. Now, of these were possible because KCCILHE provided me a platform of raw knowledge and faculties that were always able to guide me in my journey making it possible to see my ideas.

Rather the course defines the power the scholar possesses! “Journalism is my goal and at some point in due course it’ll guide me in my path to understanding. When I came to this college I was not confident at all. I was not able to speak in front of my friends, teachers. I was lacking in confidence to such an extent even after knowing the answer of the question was not able to answer because of hesitation, but teacher were very supportive and friendly They were very patient with me, trying to take out their extra time and teach me. It is the best school to learn it makes you better student and a good person.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT by BJMC college Students

The curriculum here is very pinpoint and challenging. We have arranged so many fairs related to media, article writing competition, workshops to handle cameras, mics, presentations to remove public fear, and yes lots of educational and fun trips we had. Although we perform extremely well in academics but this is not it about KCCILHE we have many clubs also, Dance& singing club, Media and photography club, cultural club, sports club and many more ahead. Teacher are well qualified here and they push their students to the extent, they want their students to be best and they make sure that you are trying your hardest whatever you do.

We are talking about everything so how can we not talk about the events and fest? Events are being held on regular basis. Recently we organized FUEL 2020. It was the joint efforts of both Teachers and students. FEST was organized by clubs I mentioned earlier. Fair organized by students. HOLI bash was organized by students and teachers.

I would say if you are lucky enough to take admission in KCCILHE then only you can experience this college the way I did and still doing. I made so many unforgettable memories and still making every day.

The educators here make the college what it is today. Teachers and mentors are not only delivering classroom teachings, but also providing the students with real-time case studies, group discussion, intellectual sports, team working, and hands on industry experience with field project works. Hoping to have even better time in coming years, collecting good memories every day.

This college has everything for students that they require in their entire college duration. In these three years span, students will specialize in a lot of things that they could have never imagined.

The Faculties help to keep the students updated with new and crisp information which is related to their field in any manner.

Another most important aspect is the various Industrial Visits organized by the college. We have gone to many industries which hire Bcom Hons students and saw how the work is done. There we learnt many new things and were glad to see how the concepts learnt in the college is combined with the corporate work. This means that the curriculum and work adopted by the college is according to the latest industrial requirements which will be helpful once the students enter the workforce environment. These small visits add a sense of joy to all of us.

Next is the Guest Lectures. Guest lectures are organized very often. Eminent Speakers are invited to share their ideas, beliefs and experiences. It helps the students learn in a more interactive way. It is helpful not only for the students but also helps faculties in contributing in a better way. Students get clarity on their future career in a better way. Recently a guest lecture was organized for the VC of GGSIPU and it was really an eye opening session. Then Mr. Pawan Rastogi had come to give an overview about the Union Budget 2020 to Bcom Hons Students. Similarly many guest speakers have already interacted with us and given their success mantras and tips to achieve the peak of success.

Next most important is the Placements. All the students are really relaxed regarding placements because we are very sure that the college will call all the reputed companies and all the students will surely get placements. I am so much assured and confident about this because they have already started giving us Pre Placement training much in advance. They are working on our communication, dressing issues. Teachers are there for giving us tips and conducting Group Discussions. Various mock interviews are organized in supervision of a senior placement head.

Next is the Internship. For Bcom Hons students internship opportunities are boundless as there are infinite companies hiring Bcom Hons students for internship or training. Internship is important for students because many companies while recruiting students for Jobs expects then to have some months of experience in internship. Internship gives you the first hand exposure in the corporate world. It allows the student to develop certain skills of time management, punctuality etc. Doing internship gives the necessary exposure that you require to work in a controlled environment. KCC gives the students lots of opportunities for internships in acclaimed companies.

Next is your College Life at KCC which is going to be enormously mesmerizing. Everything from festivals to fest is celebrated with great grandeur and fanfare. The fest was the most awaited event of the year and every single person who is related to KCC in any manner was eagerly waiting for fest. The three day event which is named “Fuel” is an intoxicating and a crazy affair. This year in the fest Punjabi Singer Parvish Verma, singer Dilbagh Singh, comedian Parvinder Singh and Hashim Firozabadi had come and everyone enjoyed a lot. The environment created by them was really electrifying. The energy of the crowd was tremendously high and the fest was a grand success.

Several events are organized on the college premises simultaneously with the studies such as tree plantation drive, Blood Donation camp, digital marketing and entrepreneurship, vigilance Awareness week and many more just for all of us so that we may learn new thing and take up one or two good habits and contribute our bit to the society which is giving us so much. The college make sure that these events are organized free from any difficulties.

Another important facility in the college for students is the Sports complex which plays a pivotal role in shaping one’s personality and preserving good health. Along with study, some game is also required on a regular basis. The sports complex matches international standards and gives a truly global experience to all. There are numerous sport facilities to keep us students engaged and physically fit. Every year three day sports fest is organized and students from different colleges come to participate. It is an inter college event and winners are awarded with certificates and trophies.

Indoor games available in the sports complex are- Table tennis, Carom, Billiards and Snookers & Chess.

Outdoor games available here are- Basketball, volleyball, cricket, lawn tennis, football, etc. Well-designed courts are built with floodlights so that we can enjoy your game at any time. It is the best way to keep one’s mind healthy and active. All these create happiness and reduce stress.

One more aspect which may be important for some is the location. KCC Institute is located in the heart of Greater Noida in Knowledge park- 3. All the necessary and luxury facilities are located nearby only. This place is a center of attraction for many reasons and is well connected to all NCR regions. The botanical Garden metro station on Blue line is the one stop destination for all the further Connecting facilities and from there you can easily get the college buses for commuting. Apart from this, you can also avail the facility of newly open Aqua Line, the nearest metro station being knowledge Park- 2 and Pari Chowk. Both these stations are hardly 5 Minutes away from college. So one of the greatest concerns of students regarding the location is almost solved.

Now, not everyone studying in the college is from nearby places. Some are from far off places and other states as well. So the college caters to their need as well. KCC has a fully furnished 9 storied Hostel with an in built dining area and other entertainment section. The hostel has rooms which are triple sharing, double sharing and single occupancy. Dormitories are also there at the Hostel. Four times meal is provided to all those living here and regular supply of clean drinking water, milk, soups, curd, tea, coffee, etc. The cooks at the hostel take extra care in preparing quality, healthy, tasty and nutritious meals for all. The gaming section is also open for students which ensures that no one is bores or fatigued.

So, overall for Bcom Hons students Joining KCC is a Boon and is a life changing and one of the best decisions that one can make. There is huge demand of KCC in the students and every effort is being taken to live up to that expectations. The smiling and beaming faces of students of KCC testify that the academics and extra curricular activities organized by the college is making a difference in their life and are always vibrant and glittering.
